Leanne Carlson serves as Ministry Assistant
at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.

Leanne was born and raised in the Apollo/Vandergrift area of suburban Pittsburgh.
She grew up in the First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum (PA). She  participated
very actively in Girl Scouts and received the Girl Scout Gold Award. She graduated from
Kiski Area High School in Vandergrift, PA in 1998.

Leanne came to the Erie area in 1998 to attend Edinboro University where she majored in fine arts sculpture with a minor in film and video production. 
In 2000 she served as a Production Intern and Extras Casting Assistant
on the film "A Wedding for Bella/The Bread My Sweet,"
starring Scott Baio and Kristen Minter and filmed in downtown Pittsburgh.

While in college, she received her introduction to youth ministry when she worked on the summer staff at Camp Crestfield of the Pittsburgh Presbytery as a lifeguard for two summers. She has continued her interest in camping ministry by volunteering as a counselor at Camp Crestfield during her summer vacations.

Leanne began attending First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in 2004
and became member in September of that year.
 She has served First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant by teaching Sunday School, she helped with the Youth Clubs, volunteered in the Nursery and Preschool Room and served on the Prayer Team during the Sunday morning worship services.

Leanne brings to her position of Ministry Assistant several years of experience
working in various local businesses, where she specialized in bookkeeping and payroll operations, as well as in Human Resources.
She has completed two additional accounting courses and
received her commission as a Notary Public in 2005.

Leanne loves adventurous outdoor activities including rock climbing, skiing,
white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, and camping.
She has served as a white water raft guide, as a rock climbing instructor,
as a kayaking instructor, and as a swimming instructor.

Leanne also serves as a member of the National Ski Patrol at Peek 'n Peak Resort.
In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking and camping with her husband, Eric.
She also spends her time reading, quilting, and cuddling with their three cats.
