Confirmation Class
Eighth graders and older are invited to become students in the Confirmation class, exploring the Christian faith and possible membership in the church. Classes are offered during the Christian Education hour on Sunday mornings, January through May. Excellent teachers from the congregation and staff make this an experience teens enjoy. For more information or to register, contact
Seph Kumer, Director of Youth and Family Minstries.

Youth Club
Meeting Sunday evenings from 6:15-8:00 p.m. during the academic school year, “Club” is the place and time for middle and senior highs to hang out. We experience Christ through fellowship, service and study. Sunday nights alternate between “outings” (go carts, bowling, lazer tag, etc.), mission or outreach events (caroling to homebound, serving meals for the needy, preparing gifts to send to children in poor or war-torn countries, etc.) and “stay in” nights with time for worship, learning, games, and prayer. Of course, no Sunday night would be complete without munchies-pizza, wings, hot dogs, etc.

Summer Trips
Each summer middle and senior highs travel for either a “summer event” or mission experience.

On alternate years, middle schoolers attend The Great Escape in Johnstown, PA.
And, senior highs travel to Myrtle Beach, SC, for Fun in the Son.

Youth Conference Ministries of Chattanooga, TN, offers these events
as part of their efforts to fulfill their mission to:

  • Present Jesus Christ to young people in such a way that they can make a
    non-pressured decision for Him

  • Nurture Christian kids in their walks with Jesus Christ

  • Equip and train youth workers to be more professionally competent in their calling

  • Strengthen and serve as a resource to the local church by providing a variety of high quality youth ministry programs and resources.

On the years that each group does not participate in a summer event,
they participate in mission trips to places like…a Navajo reservation in AZ,
rural Tennessee and West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Jamaica.

Sunday School
Separate middle school and high school classes are offered on Sunday mornings. Consult the Christian Education Schedule to find out the location, topic and teachers for current classes.

ChristCare Groups
ChristCare small groups (for Bible study, prayer, accountability and encouragement)
serve the special needs of our youth. For information on current groups, or to start your own,
please contact Seph Kumer, Director of Youth and Family Ministries.

Youth Music
Have a voice? Or not? Want to ring bells? The Kirk Singers, Lake Effect Bells, and Kirk Ringers offer opportunities for you to praise God and lead others in worship, too. Bell choirs rehearse Sunday afternoons, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the vocal choir rehearsal follows at 5:45.
Contact Steve Skinner, Minister of Music and Worship, for more information.
