God’s Lost & Found Drawer

Lent 2010

Join us as we begin our Lenten Journey together!

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, February 17th.
We will have a delicious Baked Haddock fish dinner at 5:15 p.m.
Then, at 6:30 p.m., join us in the Sanctuary
for our Ash Wednesday Worship Service.

Then, journey with us through our Lenten Theme of
“God’s Lost and Found Drawer”.

During Sunday Worship, we will explore readings
from Luke with a common theme of “lost and found”.

Join a Lenten Small Group and delve deeper into the theme of
“God’s Lost and Found Drawer”.

Attend a Covenant Connections class each Wednesday.
We will have a sermon discussion class led by Pastor Dale, building on the Lenten Sermon Theme, at the “Wednesdays @ 4” class
and also at the 6:15 p.m. Parlor Class.

Join us for Holy Week services—
Palm Sunday (and One Great Hour of Sharing offering)
on March 28th,
Maundy Thursday on April 1st,
Good Friday
on April 2nd
and
Easter Sunday on April 4th.

This Lent we will seek to find our way back to God
through sermons and small group study.

 Won’t you join the search?

Actually, it is God who is searching for us...always!
In the words of Amazing Grace: “I once was lost, but now am found.”

Please see Pages 6 & 7  of the February 2010 edition of The Covenant Chimes
for complete details!

Chili Cookoff!

February 28th,
Knox Hall

Have you been told your chili is "the best around", "outstanding", "second to none", "unique", "fiery", "mouthwatering", "scrumptious"? Do others always ask for your special recipe?
Here is a chance to claim your place on the wall of chili fame
...let the congregation be the judge!

Bring a large crock-pot of your favorite concoction
to Knox Hall on Sunday, February 28th,
pass out samples to the judges (congregation)
and enjoy the accolades of being crowned the best of 2010. Contestants will be judged on "The Hottest", "The Most Unusual", "The Most Kid Friendly", or "The Best at Covenant".

Sign up on the bulletin board in the Welcome Center to register
or call Lorie Fritts for more information. Registering ahead of time is helpful so we can have adequate sampling supplies on hand.

Following the judging, a chili lunch will be served
to all judges (the congregation) and contestants.
There is no charge for the meal (donations gladly accepted)
so please put this time for fellowship on your calendar.  _______________________________________________________
